So what have I been doing for more than a year?
Well 2025 was a busy year as I celebrated my Fiftieth wedding anniversary. Instead of planning one big celebration my husband and I decided to celebrate each and every month by either going out by ourselves or inviting some friends to come for dinner with us.
We travelled to some different cities to see old friends and dine with them in new restaurants to us. And we always had good meals and great conversation.
The month of the actual wedding we had a family reunion ,all holidaying together in Vernon BC. My sister and brother came and we oldsters rented a b&b house and my children, grandchildren and my sisters children and grandchildren all camped. We had most meals at the campsite after swimming in the lake and it was a great few days. There were a few wine tastings too which is always a blast.
The actual wedding day was spent by us in a beautiful mountain chalet with an excellent restaurant and we walked around Takakkaw falls which we hadn’t seen for some years.
Before all that and during the year I was stitching a piece called Five Golden rings… having been inspired my one of my grandsons version of the Christmas Carol.. I have finished it as a flat piece but I want something more from it but have not got there yet . And perhaps that is why I actually stopped posting here… I was waiting.
Waiting is never easy. I used to get all bothered and fuss that things weren’t coming together. But I now realize that this waiting is because of the way I work. I do not plan, my work comes to me and I start. As I work more ideas and changes come and I decide if they are what the work demands. This requires time, and thinking and waiting. It is really nice to not be so bothered by the delays… and I find that the work is much more exciting to make and watch it come to fruition all in its own terms. I won’t tell you it’s easy. But I’ve learned and I now almost enjoy waiting, at least if I remember that waiting is part of my process.
I might have pictures next time…
